Sea water, the major source of salt, has a history of therapeutic use. Thalassotherapy (originating from the Greek word thalassa) involves warm sea water applied to the body and usually combined with massage. Thousands of years ago, both the Greeks and the Romans recognized the therapeutic effects of warm sea water, penetrating the skin and entering the blood stream with its relaxing, regenerative and stimulating properties.
On the other hand, the American Indians (who resided in the Utah area near the Great Salt Lake) regularly drank small quantities of the inland sea water, enhancing the effects of their herbal remedies.
There are so many ways in which you can benefit from natural salt, including swimming in it and drinking it.

Salt baths
A bath with natural salt added (sometimes known as a Sitz bath) has many of the benefits of ocean bathing because natural salt contains many minerals (including potassium and magnesium) which helps the nervous system, reduces stress and can even relieve water retention. Another plus is bringing about a healthy calcium balance to strengthen bones and nails. Although salt baths are often recommended for those with health problems, they are cleansing and healthy for everyone, stimulating circulation, hydrating the skin and increasing moisture retention. Salt baths will help heal dry, scaly and irritated skin while reducing any inflammation of the muscles or joints and relieving pain and soreness. They are also invaluable for home treatment of hemorrhoids and anal fissures.
Drinking salt water
A daily glass of water with a little salt added will help:    Eliminate fatigue;Stabilize blood pressure & Reduce appetite.
Drinking sole
Sole is essentially water that has been fully saturated with a natural salt rather than a small amount of salt dissolved in water. The water has absorbed as much natural salt as it is able until it cannot absorb any more.
Here are some of the benefits of salt water sole:
Helping the body hydrate without becoming too dilute
Getting the benefits of the vital minerals found in unrefined salts
    Improving digestion
Improving the quality of your sleep
    Healthy skin, hair and nails
    Helping the body detoxify
    Boosting energy
    Improving digestion and blood sugar
    Acting as a natural anti-histamine
    Helping with muscle cramps
    Improving bone health
Reducing or avoiding vein problems like varicose veins
    Reducing blood pressure
Weight loss by improving digestion and nourishing the body on a cellular level

How to Make Salt Water Sole
Fill a 1 quart glass mason jar about 1/3 full of unrefined, natural salt. Then fill jar with filtered water, leaving at least 2 inch gap at top.  Cover with a non-reactive cap (LIKE THIS).  Give it a good shake and allow to sit for 24 hours.
After 24 hours, if all the salt crystals have dissolved, add a few more salt crystals to the water. Your sole is ready when the salt no longer dissolves, meaning the water has become fully saturated with the salt.  (There should always be undissolved salt crystals on the bottom of the jar. This is your visual proof that the water is totally saturated with salt.)
Store, covered, on the counter or cupboard.  The sole will last indefinitely because of salt’s natural anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties.
NOTE:  It is important to avoid using metal whenever possible when making and using sole as this de-ionizes the salt.

Malaria and typhoid are two different diseases but sometime physicians are unable to diagnose them properly due to similarity in certain  sign and symptoms.
Difference in Causative Agent:
Typhoid fever is caused by a  gram negative bacteria named as salmonella typhi whereas malaria is a protozoal disease occur due to different species of Plasmodium such as  P. falciparum,  P. vivax, P. ovale, and P. malariae. However, there is one common factor between the two. Salmonella typhi is known to breed in dirty water which can also become ideal conditions for the breeding of mosquitoes .
Difference in transmission
Typhoid bacteria are usually contracted through food or water that have been contaminated with faeces or urine. Anyone who eats any food or drink any water that had any contact with typhoid-bearing stool or urine could contact typhoid fever. Flies, which settle on typhoid-bearing faeces or urine, do in most instances, settle on exposed food or water.
Malaria is contracted by mosquitoe bites.

Difference in Symptoms:
The symptoms of both typhoid and malaria differ considerably. For example in the case of malaria patient can experience nausea, vomiting, chills, fevers and diarrhea sometime but symptoms of typhoid are different in different stages.
Mainly there are four stages of typhoid. Single stage comprises of seven days. During the first stage patient can suffer high fever and persists for weeks (fever does not respond to antimalarials), abdominal pain, severe headache, bradicardia, cough and tiredness. In the second stage, fever, reduced heart rate, diarrhea or constipation, confusional state and rose spots on trunk occur. In the third stage patient may have some complications and the last stage is the stage of recovery.

Differential diagnosis Of Typhoid

The group of symptoms which most clearly suggests the diagnosis of typhoid fever is:
Gradually increasing fever with evening exacerbation and morning remission.
    General malaise with headache.
Furred tongue with red edges and tip.
    Epistaxis.
    Relatively slow pulse (possibly dicrotic).
Abdominal distension with increased bowel sounds.
Tenderness in the right iliac fossa on firm pressure.
A roseolar eruption confined principally to the abdomen and chest.
    Splenomegaly.
    Bronchial catarrh.

Difference In Complication In Typhoid
Typhoid complications include Intestinal perforation with peritonitis (rapidly fatal, refer urgently to a surgeon) - presents as severe abdominal pain, tenderness, rebound tenderness and guarding.Acute psychosis (never refer any patient with fever and psychosis to the psychiatric hospital). Some specific complications of malaria are renal impairment, retinopathy, cerebral malaria, convulsions, coma and death.

Difference Diagnostic Tests:
Different tests are being performed to diagnose both malaria and typhoid but it is easier to diagnose malaria in comparison to typhoid. For typhoid following tests are recommended
    Widal test
    Typhidot test
    Bone marrow test
    Stool test

For malaria following types tests are being done;
    Complete blood count (CBC)
    Malarial Parasite (MP) test
Rapid diagnostic tests (RDTs) based upon the microscopic evaluation of causative agent.

Difference in Standard/Conventional Treatment:
For the treatment of malaria different types of anti-malarial drugs ( amodiaquine, lumefantrine, mefloquine or sulfadoxine/pyrimethamine) are used but for typhoid treatment, antibiotics such as ciprofloxacin and olfloxacin are commonly prescribed.

Typhoid fever is an infectious disease caused by the bacteria Salmonella typhi. It is also known as enteric fever, or commonly just typhoid. It easily spreads through contaminated food and water supplies and close contact with others who are infected. The illness is characterized by very high fever, sweating, gastroenteritis, and diarrhea. Although typhoid is very rare in the developed world, it is still a serious health threat in the developing world.

How the infection spreads
The Salmonella typhi bacteria will be in the stools (poo) of an infected person after they've been to the toilet. If they don't wash their hands properly afterwards, they can contaminate any food they touch. Anyone else who eats this food may also become infected.
Less commonly, the Salmonella typhi bacteria can be passed out in an infected person's urine. Again, if an infected person handles food without washing their hands properly after urinating, they can spread the infection to someone else who eats the contaminated food.
In parts of the world with poor sanitation, infected human waste can contaminate the water supply. People who drink contaminated water or eat food washed in contaminated water can develop typhoid fever.
Other ways typhoid fever can be contracted include:
+ using a toilet contaminated with bacteria and touching your mouth before washing your hands
+  eating seafood from a water source contaminated by infected faeces or urine
+ eating raw vegetables that have been fertilized with human waste
+ contaminated milk products
+having oral or anal sex with a person who's a carrier of Salmonella typhi bacteria

Symptoms
It usually takes 1 to 3 weeks time for patients to develop typhoid symptoms after exposure to the bacteria. The duration of the disease is 3 to 4 weeks depending upon the severity of the disease (mild or severe) with the normal incubation time is 7 to 14 days. The symptoms are –
    Headaches
    Constipation or diarrhea
    High fever (103 degree F)
    Lethargy
    Poor appetite
    Enlarged spleen & liver
    Rose-colored spots on the chest
    Chest congestion
    Abdominal pain
    Fatigue
    Chills
    Generalized pain and weakness.

(The difference between Malaria & Typhoid is that in Typhoid the pulse get slower as the fever goes up.In malaria the pulse increases and the fever increases)

Complications of typhoid fever
Complications caused by typhoid fever usually only occur in people who haven't been treated with appropriate antibiotics or who weren't treated straight away.

In such cases, about 1 in 10 people experience complications, which usually develop during the third week of infection.
The two most common complications in untreated typhoid fever are:
internal bleeding in the digestive system
splitting (perforation) of a section of the digestive system or bowel, which spreads the infection to nearby tissue

Pawpaw is the fruit of the plant Carica papaya, and is one of the 22 accepted species in the genus Carica of the plant family Caricaceae. The papaya is a large, tree-like plant, with a single stem growing from 5 to 10 m (16 to 33 ft) tall, with spirally arranged leaves confined to the top of the trunk. The lower trunk is conspicuously scarred where leaves and fruit were borne. The leaves are large, 50–70 cm (20–28 in) in diameter, deeply palmately lobed, with seven lobes
Papaya plants come in three sexes: "male," "female," and "hermaphrodite." The male produces only pollen, never fruit. The female will produce small, inedible fruits unless pollinated. The hermaphrodite can self-pollinate since its flowers contain both male stamens and female ovaries. Almost all commercial papaya orchards contain only hermaphrodites.
Originally from southern Mexico (particularly Chiapas and Veracruz), Central America, and northern South America, the papaya is now cultivated in most tropical countries including Nigeria. In cultivation, it grows rapidly, fruiting within three years. It is, however, highly frost-sensitive, limiting its production to tropical climates.

Pawpaw produces fruit for both food and medicine. The medicinal value of pawpaw has been scientifically proved. Scientist and traditional healers all over the world have agreed that pawpaw is known to be effective as a natural remedy for Syphilis, Gonorrhoea, Bladder Problems Dysentery, Jaundice, and Constipation, etc.

Papaya fruit nutritional benefits

  1.  The papaya fruit is very low in calories (just 39 calories/100 g) and contains no cholesterol; however, it is a rich source of phyto-nutrients, minerals, and vitamins.
 2.   Papayas contain soft, easily digestible flesh with a good amount of soluble dietary fiber that helps to have normal bowel movements; thereby reducing constipation problems.
   3. Fresh, ripe papaya is one of the fruits with the highest vitamin-C content (provides 61.8 mg or about 103% of DRI, more than that of in oranges, or lemons). Research studies have shown that vitamin C has many important functions like free radicals scavenging, immune booster, and anti-inflammatory actions.
   4. It is also an excellent source of Vitamin-A (provides 1094 IU/100 g) and flavonoids like ß-carotene, lutein, zea-xanthin and cryptoxanthin. Vitamin A is required for maintaining healthy mucus membranes and skin and is essential for healthy vision. These compounds are known to have antioxidant properties; help act as protective scavengers against oxygen-derived free radicals and reactive oxygen species (ROS) that play a role in aging and various disease processes. Consumption of natural fruits rich in carotenes has known to protect the body from lung and oral cavity cancers.
5.Papaya fruit is also rich in many essential B-complex vitamins such as Folic acid, pyridoxine (vitamin B-6), riboflavin, and thiamin (vitamin B-1). These vitamins are essential in the sense that body requires them from external sources to replenish and play a vital role in metabolism.

Headaches, including migraines, are extremely common. Because headaches can stem from a variety of causes, some headache sufferers seek treatment on a near-daily basis. Fortunately, there are several home-remedy treatments that can help alleviate migraine pain and other types of headaches.

Lavender Oil
Not only does lavender smell great — it’s also a useful home remedy for headaches and migraine pain. Lavender oil can be either inhaled or applied topically. Two to four drops for every two to three cups of boiling water are recommended when inhaling lavender-oil vapors as a headache treatment. Unlike many medicinal oils, this home remedy can also be safely applied externally without the need to dilute it. Lavender oil should not be taken orally.

Feverfew(Tanacetum parthenium)

Headaches, particularly migraines, can be relieved through the use of the feverfew plant. When a migraine is in the works your blood vessels are changing, and theories suggest that the vessels in your head are expanding and pressing on nerves. Feverfew has been confirmed to relax the tension/constrict blood vessels, easing the painful pressure. It also reduces inflammation and pain overall with a substance called parthenolide, which has results similar to taking a daily aspirin, but without the side effects.
You will need…
-1 ounce fresh or dried flowers
-1 pint of boiling water

Add 1 ounce of fresh or dried feverfew flowers to 1 pint of boiling one. Steep for 10 minutes, and then strain. Drink half a cup twice a day as needed.

Apply peppermint oil
Peppermint oil has a wonderfully soothing effect when you’re suffering from a headache, easing the discomfort and clearing your mind. It can be applied to various places, and people who use it find that it works quickly to relieve pain. If you have sensitive skin and find that it irritates it, try diluting it with a bit of olive oil or water. This fresh-smelling oil has vaso-constricting and vaso-dilating properties, which help control blood flow in the body. Headaches and migraine pain are often due to poor blood flow, and peppermint oil helps to open and close the vessels that promote flow
You will need…
-Peppermint oil

Massage the peppermint oil onto your temples, the back of your jaw, and forehead. You will feel a cooling sensation upon applying it. Breathe deeply, and if possible, find a quiet place to relax and sip some cool water.

Drink More water:
On average we don’t drink enough water daily, and that alone is cause for a headache. Coffee, alcohol, sugary drinks-all can dehydrate you (hence the pounding headache that comes along with a hangover) and should be avoided. As soon as your head starts to hurt, drink a tall glass of water, and then sip throughout the day. Gradually the pain will start to ease up, and you’ll be hurting less and well-hydrated to boot. Simply drinking water may seem too obvious or simple to actually work as a headache remedy but it can, and often time’s does

Gingerroot
Prostaglandin synthesis is a process that takes place in some animals (including humans) that makes lipid (fat) compounds within their cells. Those fatty substances are like little chemical messengers that mediate biological processes, like inflammation, and alerting neurons to pain. Certain enzymes spark off the prostaglandin synthesis, while some drugs, such as aspirin, inhibit the synthesis. Gingerroot, a natural alternative, is thought to inhibit the synthesis as well. On top of that, if you’re getting knocked with a migraine, it can help quell your nausea. Simply sip a nice steaming cup of gingerroot tea and relax while you wait for your headache to ease up.
You will need…
-3 quarter size slices of gingerroot
-2 cups of water
Slice 3 slices off of a piece of raw gingerroot, with each being roughly the size of a quarter. Gently simmer the pieces of ginger in 2 cups of water, covered, for 30 minutes. Use something to remove the pieces of ginger and transfer to a mug, or if you prefer, leave them in. Sip slowly and breathe in the steam if you want. Relax!

Grab a pencil
Holding a pencil between your teeth (holding, not biting or clenching your jaw) can help a tension headache dissipate. The actual physical action of holding the pencil between your teeth activates your “smile” muscles, relaxing your jaw. We often times clench our teeth when stressed and this in turn strains the muscle connecting the jaw to the temples and causes a tension headache. Again, make sure your jaw is relaxed and the pencil is held lightly between your teeth.

Drink fish oil
There are some small-scale studies that show the ingestion of fish oil can help reduce migraines and head pain, thanks to its omega-3 fatty acids, which promotes heart health. The American Heart Association states that the ingredients in fish oil may help reduce inflammation, blood clotting, lower blood pressure, and steady heart rhythm. Those actions in turn may help reduce head pain because it may reduce the inflammation of blood cells that press and pinch on nerves.
You will need…
-1 tablespoon of fish oil OR fish oil oral supplements
-1 glass of orange juice

Directions
If you are taking fish oil capsules, follow the dosing on the bottle. If using the actual oil, mix a tablespoon into a glass of cold orange juice and drink up! It’s really not as bad as it sounds.

Hot/Cold Compress
Headaches are tricky little things, with what clears them up for one person totally triggering them for another. There’s evidence to support both hot and cold compress treatments, and it all has to do with the muscles and blood vessels. Some headaches are caused, at least in part, by expanded blood vessel pressing on nerves. For these, applying something cold to the area can constrict those vessels and relieve some of the pressure causing the throbbing ache. Other headaches are caused by tension and anxiety, and cold tends to tighten up muscles that then pinch nerves and enlarge blood vessels. You’ll have to play around to see if you’re someone who benefits from cold/ cool treatment or hot/warm, while some people find alternating between the two works best.
You will need…
1. Cold compress, such as a bag of frozen peas, a bag of ice, or a cold pack.
2. Hot compress, such as a towel soaked in very warm water.

Directions
Find a quiet place to lie down, preferably where you can dim the lights or turn them off. Place the cold or hot compress on your forehead and relax. At some point, try switching to the back of your head, or the top, depending on where the pain is concentrated. You can also try a cold compress at one location and a hot compress on another, either on your head, or place the hot compress on your shoulders if your headache is from tension. Do this for as long as you feel you need to. Try sipping fresh water through a straw if you can manage during or after the treatment, and make sure to ease back into your daily routine-don’t just dash onto a crowded street in blinding sunlight.
